A commitment to skills, learning and traditional crafts has underpinned our success for more than 125 years, with the company's large, directly employed workforce being nationally renowned for the quality of their work.
The Linford commitment to skills and career development has led us to develop training programmes in every area of our business. We active encourage our employees to learn the skills - both traditional crafts and new techniques - that are required by our diverse project portfolio.

Combining practical experience with technical academic learning by placing apprentices with craftsmen on site and in the workshops has always been the best way of developing tomorrow' Master Craftsmen and Site Foremen.

This commitment to training saw us lead as one of the founders of the William Morris Craft Fellowship scheme, and was later behind our decision to establish the Lichfield Centre for Master Crafts, an exciting new centre of excellence which will take apprentices from NVQ 3 to NVQ5 in all the traditional heritage skills.
